Lock Health Check.
Helpful information
01
How to interpret the suggested next step
A monitoring result means your answers did not identify several operating concerns; it does not certify the lock or guarantee future reliability. Keep an eye on changes in key movement, handle return and door closing. If symptoms develop, describe those changes when asking for advice rather than relying on an earlier result.
A contact result means the observations are worth discussing, not that replacement has been prescribed. A call result is intended to direct an immediate access problem towards a conversation during opening hours. In every case, the condition of the actual door and hardware must be considered before agreeing to work. No result is an appointment confirmation or a promise of a response time.
02
What this check can and cannot tell you
The check organises five observations: current access, key operation, latching, knowledge of key holders and visible damage. It gives a general next step based on your answers. It is not an inspection, a security score, a product recommendation or confirmation that a door is safe.
A result that suggests monitoring does not override visible damage or a problem that concerns you. Likewise, a result suggesting contact does not confirm availability, price or the work required. Use it to describe the issue more clearly when you speak to the business.
03
Turn your observations into a useful enquiry
Write down what changed and when. A handle that has gradually loosened, a lock that became stiff after a new key was cut and a door that only sticks when closed are different observations. Include whether you can still open and secure the door.
If you cannot get inside, call during the listed opening hours and explain the immediate access problem. If someone is in danger, contact emergency services. For planned work, the service-request form prepares an email for you to send from your own email application.
