Questions, answered plainly.
01What are your opening hours?
Our listed opening hours are 7:00 AM–11:00 PM. Please call to confirm availability for your situation.
02Do you offer 24-hour service?
No. We do not advertise a 24-hour service. Contact us within our opening hours of 7:00 AM–11:00 PM.
03What should I have ready when I call?
Your location, the type of door and lock, what the problem is, and, if possible, a photo of the lock.
04Can I visit the address in person?
Please call or email before attending so we can confirm the best way to help you.
05What is the difference between rekeying and replacing a lock?
Rekeying changes the pins inside the existing lock so old keys stop working. Replacing swaps the whole lock — useful if it is worn, damaged or the wrong type.
06My key is stiff — should I spray oil in the lock?
Avoid oil-based household sprays; they attract dust. A dry graphite or PTFE lock lubricant is better. If it is still stiff, get advice before it fails.
07I rent — can I change the locks?
Rules apply to rental properties in Victoria. Check current Consumer Affairs Victoria guidance and speak with your rental provider or agent first.
08Do you work on business premises?
Yes, we take enquiries from shops, offices and small businesses. Tell us about the premises and doors involved.
09How much will it cost?
It depends on the job. Describe the problem when you get in touch and we can talk through what is involved.
Helpful information
01
Access problems versus planned lock work
If you are locked out now, start with access: which door is involved, where you are and whether anyone is at risk. If you can get inside but the lock is stiff, describe the mechanical symptoms. If the lock works but keys are missing, explain the access concern rather than assuming replacement is the only option.
The answers on this page are general preparation for an enquiry. Product compatibility, a final quote and an appointment depend on the actual circumstances. Use the links below for the context relevant to your problem.

Questions worth asking before a lock change
Ask whether the proposed hardware fits your door, whether the current holes and strike plate can be retained and how the door will operate from the inside. Where keys or cylinders are being changed, clarify which keys will continue to work and which will no longer provide access.
For a rental or managed property, confirm approval requirements with the person responsible for the premises. For a business, consider staff access and whether any shared system is involved. These details can affect the suitable next step more than the appearance of the handle.
